This is an open journal however I mainly post FRIENDS ONLY...but if you'd like for me to add you back, or add you as a friend please comment and let me know. I love to make new friends. If you post a comment and I don't get back to you, I'm probably not interested. Sometimes I get bad vibes from people, or just look over journal/user info and KNOW that some people are NOT the kind of people I include in my circle of friends. This is always going to be the first post on my "entries" page so that everyone knows this :0)

I'm doing another friends cut for those that aren't using LJ anymore or we just don't chat (in one form or another) anymore. If you're one that isn't using LJ anymore, let me know if you return.

:: subject: An open entry to Santa's little helper
:: mood: thankful

Dear Santa's little helper,

We recieved your package today, THANK YOU SO MUCH! The thoughtfulness that you've sent our way will surely be paid forward...in fact, maybe I've already done so. On my way home from the kid's dentist appointment this evening (prior to knowing there was a package here at home waiting for us) we were stopped at a stop light where a homeless man stood with a little sign that said 'Homeless, please help. God Bless'.

I very rarely actually give cash to those who are on the streets, but I've been known to give several large orders of Wendy's chilli to them while living in Alaska and last year a full rack of ribs and the sides as we headed home from a Christmas party one night as well as just regular fast food items I knew I'd just put in the fridge upon arriving home.

Tonight for some reason I reached into my purse, which I knew did not hold much, but I gave him half of what I had. This was not a large amount, in fact it was $1. I apologized for not being able to give more but I could tell he was very appreciative of the $1 I had just handed him. I hope and pray that it will be spent on food or a non-alcoholic drink and not drugs or alcohol.

We will not open the presents until Christmas, or maybe Christmas Eve as the kids are SO excited to see what Santa's little helper has sent to them, and so am I. I have put your letter up with the other 2 cards that came into the mail today (Thanks Trina & Missie!). I was so shocked that someone I didn't know would go through the trouble of not only getting our address (I trust that this is a TRUSTED friend of someone I trust on my friends list because I only gave it out to those I've known for a long time, and I have NO DOUBT that whomever it was knows this person as I do them or they never would've given out my address) but buying whatever gifts the package contained that I was choking back tears.

I thought I would share this publicly in hopes that whomever helped Santa's little helper will let them know that I've posted an entry for them to come and check out so they can see how much their gifts are appreciated.

Thank you, Santa's little helper! And thank you to the helper of Santa's little helper as well.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Thank you to everyone who has served, is serving and will serve our Country. Thank you military families for supporting our troops and giving up so much of your family lives in order to secure our freedoms.

In loving memory of Dave Heringes. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.

:: subject: The kids are SOOOO funny!!
:: mood: amused

A little bit ago Dylan came in and asked if John's WOW (world of warcraft) character was a dwarf or an elf. I said why? He was like well we are playing WOW outside and I wanted to be what his character is. So I giggled and said 'he's an elf'. Then we hear 'SEE TOLD YA SO DONNIE', apparently Donnie thought he was a Dwarf. A few minutes after that he came back and asked me what the first quest is...well I couldn't remember so I just told him to make up his own.

We found this really funny that the KIDS are outside (thank god the weather has warmed up they were getting cabin fever!!) playing WOW. Well it gets better...only gamers and/or internet junkies will get a kick outta this next part. I'm sitting here browsing youtube, John's playing WOW, the kids are STILL outside playing and we hear the following:

Dylan: Cierra where are you?

Cierra: Sorry, I was AFK. (away from keyboard)

ROFLMFAO!!!

John and I died laughing. I asked him, how does she even KNOW what AFK is? He's like, I dunno, she must've seen one of us type it LOL When we play we usually have at least one kid hovering over our shoulder(s) telling us which 'bad guy' to attack, or which way to run our characters, etc. They are too little to play it themselves so they instruct us to what they wanna do.

So freaking funny!! Now I'm off to finish the very last of my Christmas shopping, get my nails done...Have a good day everyone!

:: subject: Sad News...
:: mood: sad

I have some sad news. One of my best friends husbands was killed while serving in Iraq. I'm shocked, saddened and left speachless. He was a good man who loved his family more then anything. Him and his wife were separated but as you can imagine everyone is still very upset. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

I don't know what else to say...
